
Jr. Controls Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Jr. Controls Engineer to join our team and assist in the design, programming, and maintenance of industrial automation and control systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in electrical engineering, control systems, and PLC programming. This role offers an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience in automation projects, troubleshooting, and system optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in designing, developing, and implementing automation and control systems for manufacturing and industrial processes.
Program, troubleshoot, and modify PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), and SCADA systems.
Support electrical and control system design, including wiring diagrams, schematics, and panel layouts.
Collaborate with senior engineers to conduct system testing, debugging, and validation.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving control system issues to minimize downtime.
Work with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and engineering, to optimize automation processes.
Document control system changes, software configurations, and maintenance procedures.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company guidelines.
Participate in field commissioning, system installations, and maintenance activities as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Experience: 0-2 years of experience in automation, control systems, or a related field (internships/co-ops preferred).
Basic knowledge of PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar) and HMI/SCADA development.
Familiarity with industrial sensors, actuators, and motor control systems.
Understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel design.
Basic experience with robotics, motion control, and industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus) is a plus.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site support and commissioning.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with CAD software for electrical design (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
Basic programming knowledge in Python, C++, or ladder logic.
Hands-on experience with industrial automation projects.
