Proximity IT Technician (Manufacturing Plant) Role

Position Overview:

The Proximity IT Technician will join the Plant Floor Systems Team, working at customer locations to assist with client-specific projects. This role focuses on supporting Plant IT systems, optimizing network performance, and general IT services including moves, additions, changes, and hardware/software fixes while addressing client concerns through troubleshooting.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·        Communicate effectively with clients, demonstrating strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

·        Perform installations, moves, additions, and changes to network hardware as requested by clients.

·        Support both planned and unplanned client facility power outages.

·        Identify and escalate any issues or hazards related to client moves, cabling installations, or fault resolution.

·        Determine the best solutions for incidents, including escalating as necessary.

·        Utilize client tools such as the Incident Ticketing System (ServiceNow) and Change Control systems.

·        Ensure change and fault records are updated and resolved promptly.

·        Provide detailed escalations to other CE’s or Level 2 support technicians at shift end.

·        Run patch cables between patch panels and switches, wall jacks, and end-user devices as needed.

·        Support Plant Floor Systems as management directs.

·        Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

·        Previous Plant Floor Experience.

·        Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

·        Technical experience and a willingness to learn.

·        Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and develop creative solutions.

·        Effective time management and task prioritization.

·        Active pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Engineering, or a related technology field.

·        Four years of IT support and network services experience in a client environment preferred.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Schedule:

· 2nd Shift: 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM or 5:30 PM – 2:00 AM

· 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM or 11:30 PM – 8:00 AM
